IDHA Community Open Mic!

“We believe we have mad gifts to be cultivated and taken care of, rather than diseases or disorders to be suppressed and eliminated. By joining together as individuals and as a community, the intertwined threads of madness, creativity, and collaboration can inspire hope and transformation in an oppressive and damaged world.” -Sascha DuBrul

On Monday, May 25th, we will celebrate the launch of our new class, Dangerous Gifts (featuring IDHA Training Director Sascha DuBrul) by hosting another virtual open mic! For this open mic, we will pose the following questions to all participating artists in efforts to ignite our community’s radical imagination and continue to develop a shared analysis. Shared being the most important word.

  • Do you navigate the space between brilliance and madness? If so, how?

  • What is your quiet revolution?

  • Have you ever been quelled?

  • What is the role of harm reduction in this moment?

  • What does self-determination mean to you?

Art pieces may take many forms, including poems, songs, visual art, or otherwise. Members can present art both old and new, some repurposed for this open mic and others created specifically for it.

Register in advance via Zoom to join. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about how to join.
